The Spectrum Solutions Difference
- Our course includes the software license. Most other online courses do not include licenses to use the CAD software which will incur additional charges on the user's end.
- We give users the flexibility of 3 months with course. Other providers generally offer 1 month.
- Our curriculum is training material that is authorized by Autodesk. We are also an AutoDesk Authorized Training Center.
- Users receive support from active, industry experienced users of the software.
- Users will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of the course.
Topics Covered: Introduction to Solid Modeling and More (INV 101 - INV 108)
- INV 101 – Getting Started with Inventor Â
- Navigate the Autodesk Inventor user interface and utilize key tools to streamline your modeling workflow.Â
- Master essential sketching techniques, including drawing entities, applying geometric constraints, and defining precise dimensions.
- Understand the core process of building a solid base feature to serve as the foundation for your design.
- Construct primary base features using a library of built-in primitive 3D shapes.
- Set up and manage project files to effectively organize parts, assemblies, drawings, and exploded presentations. Learn the concept and workflow of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- INV 102 – Basic Feature Types Â
- Sketch and position secondary geometry onto existing base features.Â
- Apply placed features—such as holes, fillets, and chamfers—directly onto model faces.
- Establish custom work planes, axes, and points to construct geometry off principal axes.
- Generate complex 3D shapes by sweeping profiles along designated paths.Â
- Blend multiple sketch profiles together using the Loft tool.Â
- Shape models using advanced feature tools, including draft angles, thin-wall shelling, and structural ribs.Â
- Speed up design workflows by using pattern and mirror duplication tools.Â
- INV 103 – Feature Relationships Â
- Examine parent/child dependencies between features and use editing tools to modify model history.Â
- Drive parametric design intent using mathematical equations to ensure models update predictably.
- Reorder, suppress, and inspect model features using built-in view controls.Â
- Troubleshoot design errors using diagnostic and recovery tools to fix broken geometry.Â
- INV 104 – Introduction to Assemblies Â
- Assemble multi-part models by applying functional joints and geometric assembly constraints.Â
- Interrogate assembly motion, inspect spatial relationships, and check for component interference.Â
- Build new components directly inside the assembly environment using top-down design techniques.
- Generate, customize, and export a Bill of Materials (BOM) that automatically syncs with drawing parts lists.Â
- INV 105 – Model Information Â
- Use the Measure tool to extract accurate lengths, angles, surface areas, and loop perimeters.
- Assign physical material properties and visual appearances to calculate weight and mass properties.Â
- INV 106 – Introduction to Drawings  Â
- Produce standard orthographic and isometric drawing views from 3D parts and assemblies.Â
- Annotate drawing sheets with dimensions, callouts, symbols, and notes to complete design documentation.
- Create exploded presentation views and animated sequences to showcase assembly steps. Â
- INV 107 – Additional Practice  Â
- Reinforce core CAD skills through hands-on practice exercises covering all previous concepts.Â
- INV 108 – Customizing Autodesk InventorÂ
- Personalize system settings and display preferences to match your preferred working style.
- Configure Application Options to optimize performance and modeling behaviors.
- Tailor Document Settings to establish template standards for individual parts, assemblies, and drawings.
- Customize the ribbon interface, marking menus, and keyboard shortcuts for faster command access.
